From train carriages to teepee's, lighthouses to windmill's, ghost towns to contemporary Art gallery's.....I spent the day in a boardroom full of like minded souls discussing the fact that overnight accommodations need never be boring!
Looking beyond the boring bedrooms of most chain hotels into the unusual and unique makes for more to a night's sleep than just a bed in a box!
I had so much fun today!
You see, although I have managed teams across the world, I have been afraid of public speaking for the longest time and have even taken several public speaking courses, life coaching and almost hypnosis on the subject to combat the incredible fear that overwhelms me inside as I am about to make a public presentation! My usual M.O is to quietly listen, observe and take notes.....then afterwards present an email letting the folks know my opinion! Why?!?!?.....
BUT today, for the first time in a long time I didn't get butterflies in my stomach when it was my turn to speak! Today I was Clare, today I spoke my mind and today I discovered my true voice in my professional life. I had a blast!
This was the most brilliant day as I discovered what it's like to simply let go of the outcome and have fun participating in a boardroom dialogue!
After an intense afternoon in the boardroom finessing strategies, forging game plans and such, we headed out as a team to have some fun!
When the co-founders unveiled our first destination 'The Ice Bar' I knew I was in the right company!!! (picture attached!) Absolut Icebar - Reinventing cool with a new chilling theme every six months! You get dressed before going inside! It's an attractive look for sure!
Yes I wore that!!!! And I had the East cocktail!
Next up we were transported to 'Morocco' for dinner!
Then to 'The Crazy Bear' club....
Now back at the hotel and ready for bo bo's!!!
