Finally, a day arrived where I didn’t have to be in the studio all day and all night. I was able to drive home before the sun set and hit my studio at home to complete my five hour nude drawing.
Before heading up to the studio I put my nurturing self to work on the making of a healthy delicious pot of bean soup. Somehow there aren’t a whole lot of beans in my bean soup though.
It appears as though the head of cabbage, bag of carrots, two stalks of celery and two slabs of ribs have over powered the beans. With the addition of a tad of seasoned sea salt I now have a most delicious pot of soup to keep me filled up for the next week.
I have no doubt that I will manage to lose weight while eating my pot of soup. I will undoubtedly burn off more calories than I consume and that is okay by me.
I will share that cooking is one of my loves, especially soups. I love throwing a bunch of stuff together to see what I can come up with. I have yet to use a recipe and only twice did the garbage get the pot’s contents instead of my belly.
Pineapple does not cook up well in a soup. Soup left in the refrigerator more than seven days can generate horrific diarrhea. Take my word. Do not try either. I have learned the lesson so my friends don’t have to.
It’s the slicing and dicing that I love so much in cooking. Small slivers of this and thin slices of that make for a great soup. No big chunks of anything because beans aren’t big nothing else should be either.
I don't know why it is but when I slice and dice and shred I always think about all the people that I love. Maybe that's why my soups are so good. Thoughts like that could warm anyone's heart, body or soul.
Maybe I’ll look for a friend to share a bite. Maybe I’ll give some to a stranger. Maybe someone I have photographed will enjoy the hot heartiness of my winter love concoction. I don’t know what’s going to happen. I’m going to leave myself open to all the possibilities.
This much I do know. I love making soup on winter days. It fills me heart with nourishment. Sweet Dreams to you and all those who eat from your pot! Maggie ã
